    Exceptional

The room was very spacious and comfortable with a fabulous bathroom. I didn't have an evening meal but the breakfast was excellent.

The only negatives were the squeeky floorboards on the corridor outside the room and the fact there was no network coverage on my phone. This was a bit awkward as I was staying here on business.

    Fabulous

A lovely hotel with a sense of 'old England' Lovely crisp bed linnen. The double bed was two 3ft matresses, so when my husband rolled in the bed I wasnt disturbed. All the fixtures and fittings ie door handles were really good quality.

    Very good

Conservatory was a lovely place to have a drink. Breakfast was also very good.

Rooms were too warm, whilst it was a lovely hotel it was a little over priced.

Relaxing hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was wonderful. Just enough on the plate and not swimming in grease. Continental breakfast also very adequate good selection and nicely presented on a large table. Linen on the bed and in the dining room was pristine clean.

The only problem with our room was the lighting. Even with all the lights on it was still pretty dark and difficult to read a book. But having said that the room was cosy and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities also.

    Very good

We were welcomed warmly by the staff, and were upgraded to a better room which was lovely. Location was great. Breakfast was very nice, and cooked to order. Very nicely decorated, and the place feels well looked after and well run.

The room was across the courtyard from the main building, next to the outside drinking area of the pub so you do hear people outside, but nothing to really bother us and it didn't go on very late. Also, the room was quite hot, but there was a fan in the room which helped somewhat (no a/c) but was a bit loud to leave on at night. Be warned that dinner finishes around 9pm (this was a Saturday night) so we missed out, but this generally goes for the whole of the village pubs/restaurants apart from the indian restaurant at the Volunteer Inn (10/10.30pm).

    Exceptional

The upgraded room I was offered through your site was absolutely superb with a very large bathroom overlooking the limestone village through a big window framed with flower print curtains. A free access to a garden across the street of a sister hotel was a big plus. Very relaxing and pretty. The location being right in front of the only bus stop in the village, it could not have been more convenient. A ten minute bus ride to the neighboring Mickleton takes you to one of the most magnificent country gardens of Kiftsgate and Hidcote which you should not miss by all means. I was able to connect to WiFi in the room.

A slant in the floor towards the middle tilts the furnitures slightly to the center of the room and could bother some people, but I found it added another nice character to the room.

    Exceptional

Traditional pub atmosphere, in a beautiful location fronting onto the High Street. Attractive recently built extension housing the bedrooms at the back. Very welcoming and comfortable. The food was lovely, especially the full english breakfast.

The shower knob was too stiff to turn off.

The excellent breakfast, the room upgrade and the public rooms and newspapers.

Was disappointed that the log fire had not been lit
